Speech-Language Therapy for Children
Strong communication skills are essential for your child’s academic and social success. We specialize in the evaluation and treatment of preschool and school-aged children with articulation/phonological difficulties, apraxia of speech, receptive and expressive language delays and social pragmatic language difficulties. Based on the results of our evaluation, we develop an individualized treatment program that best suits your child’s needs.
Our focus is to help your child reach their full communication potential. We believe in a team approach to treatment, providing ongoing family training and working collaboratively with other professionals involved in your child’s progress.
Some of the therapies we offer include:
PROMPT® Therapy – a tactile-kinesthetic approach that uses touch cues on a client’s articulators (jaw, tongue, lips) to manually guide them through a targeted word, phrase or sentence. PROMPT therapy is appropriate for a wide range of communication disorders including apraxia and speech sound disorders.
Articulation/Phonological Therapy – helps your child produce challenging sounds and achieve age- appropriate speech.
Language Therapy – improves your child’s understanding of language and ability to communicate his or her wants, needs, thoughts and ideas.
Social Skills Therapy – allows your child to use language to better communicate his or her needs and ideas, understand the feelings of others and follow the rules of conversation.
Play Therapy – Play-based therapy allows your child to express his or her individuality, progress towards goals at a faster pace and form a trusting relationship with our speech pathologist.
